Despedida-Anniversary Tennis Tournament at ABAB

February 19-20, 2009 - The ABAB Tennis Club rendered a despedida tournament in honor of Brigadier General Artemio Orozco, Wing Commander of 570^th Composite Tactical Wing on 20 February 2009 at the twin clay tennis court of Antonio Bautista Air Base. The conduct of the activity was also in connection with the celebration of the unit’s 36^th Foundation Anniversary which will be in the 2^nd of March 2009. The event was participated by the Naval Forces West Tennis Club and some guests from the city. It was a two-day activity for three groups, group A, B & C in a ladder concept of tournament. Garnering the Championship places are the pairs of Dem Castillo and Noy Barato from Group A, Bags Bagaan and Manny Quiaño from Group B and from Group C is the pair of Cynthia Noveno and her partner Major Amuan, the Chief Dental officer of 570^th CTW.

The activity was concluded by the awarding of trophies by the honoree of the event, BGEN ART OROZCO, Wing Commander of 570^th CTW to the winning pairs. Also garnering the runner up places are the pairs of Butch Ferrero and Mar Bengano, Billy Rumpon and Peter Fajardo, Jershon Saluba and Jenjen, Neneng Castrillo and Tony Pediapco and Rey Mangibin and Romar Catotal.

In his closing remarks, BGEN OROZCO stressed his strong support for tennis sports. He said he was once a tennis lover too, but due to time constraints and his numerous involvement and commitment related to his family and military career his love for tennis just once in awhile has become the least subject.

To make the concluding program memorable, Maj Billy Rumpon presented a token to BGEN OROZCO and with the honoree the group had their photo offs.
